About me

Why Counselling

Well done for taking the first steps to healing and feeling good about yourself. Life is sometimes so complicated that past and present issues get in the way and muddy the waters even more. I think we have all been there at some point in our life. Maybe you have reached the point where 'enough is enough' and feel that talking to somebody neutral would be good. It may be that you are struggling with stress, anxiety and/or depression.  it could be that you’re having issues in your relationships at home, school, work or in your marriage.  Maybe you are suffering from a bereavement of a loved one or an enforced change of lifestyle. Are you a victim of abuse? Contact me!

I totally understand where you are coming from, I've been there too! It takes courage to do something about the stuff we carry around instead of keeping burying our heads in the sand. I'm here to help you wade your way through this difficult time in your life.

Benefits of Counselling

There are many benefits to counselling.  Here are just a few:

  • It will improve your mood and your mental health
  • Being heard by somebody neutral and non judgemental
  • it will improve your relationships
  • It will empower you to make change where necessary

What can I offer You

Experience - As a Counsellor for 22 years and somebody just like you, that has sat in the clients chair.  From experience I recognise that we are all different and therefore need different types of counselling.  I will offer an integrative model/method of counselling which basically means that I tailor my method of counselling to suit your needs. I offer both individual and couple counselling.

How do I go about starting counselling

I offer a free telephone consultation where you can talk to me about your issues and together we will work out a way forward. I think that the first talk is so important. From this initial conversation you will get an idea of whether I'm the therapist for you. I am an open, honest person, non judgemental and caring. We are only 'here' once and I believe everybody has the right to feel happy.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
