About me

Maybe you lived up to other people's expectations for so long you don't know who the 'real You' is. You may be struggling to get out of bed because your cup has been empty for days or weeks now. Maybe you have been hurt by someone close to you and are struggling to put yourself back together again. You might find it difficult to connect with others and are afraid of not being accepted for who you are. You might experience overwhelming feelings of sadness but can’t quite put your finger on where this is coming from.

I would love the opportunity to work together with you. I will do my best to really understand what life is like for you and create an environment where you feel safe and heard. You are always the expert about yourself – I will ask questions and contribute suggestions, sometimes I'll gently challenge you where this might be helpful, but I’ll never tell you what to do. Therapy is your time and space where you can be fully yourself and can expect the same from me. I don't believe in hiding behind a professional facade, I think connections are much deeper and better when you get to experience me as I am.

I currently offer sessions online or over the phone. I also offer outdoor therapy. Please get in touch to book a free initial consultation where we can decide if we would like to work together. You can find more info about me and how I work on my website www.paulaweninger.co.uk

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
