About me
My name is Paula I am a qualified Creative Arts Psychotherapist and have been working with both individuals and groups providing therapy since 2018.
I have over 18 years’ experience of working with children, adolescents and adults across a variety of settings including; Pupil Referral Units, Leaving Care, Youth Offending Service, Mental Health Adults Outpatient Services. I currently deliver therapy services in a mainstream secondary school in Southeast London.
I am interested in supporting people to see beyond the behaviours or circumstances that might limit them. I will support you to remove the masks that you may have found yourself hiding behind. I will offer you a safe space to explore and grow.
Choosing to begin therapy can feel very scary, especially at a time where your issues may be feeling particularly overwhelming. I strongly believe that for change to happen we must be willing to make small changes. I believe that the right client/therapist pairing is integral to the therapeutic process. Committed engagement from both parties allows opportunity for individuals to experience a greater sense of self-awareness, growth and an overall improvement in quality of life.
Creative Arts Psychotherapy combined with mindfulness allows you to be engage in therapy at a pace that is suited to your individual need. This supports with self-esteem, confidence and the management of anxiety. Whatever your reason for thinking about therapy, the process can only be activated once you are ready. I will be there, every step of the way to offer the tools to support you on your journey.
Dramatherapy
As a Dramatherapist, as well as talking therapy, I offer creative activities and embodied experiences to help you to re-imagine, work through and make changes in your life. I offer a wide range of dramatic techniques in verbal and non-verbal ways. Though vocalisation, story making, and talk are integral parts of dramatherapy, the practice does not solely rely on spoken language to resolve what you may wish to address and explore. Embodiment and movement can also be used to help you to connect with difficult feelings.
My private practice is currently offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Cost per session £60 per 50 mins. I offer reduced cost rates for people on a reduced or low income. This has limited availability. Please ask.
