About me

Do you wish to feel less anxious, more free from worry, not quite so sad? Do you want to become more self-aware, have better relationships, feel more secure with your place in the world? Get rid of past trauma and ease those feelings of dread?

Therapeutic counselling with me is about exploring how you can be the person you want to be - free from anxiety and positive about what is to come. It is about becoming more self-aware and gaining understanding about your choices - past, present and future.

Personal therapy is an emotional journey. The road is often bumpy and sometimes feels hard, and there is no point in pretending that counselling provides a magic wand. But you are not alone. As your counsellor I will take the journey alongside you every step of the way, until you are ready to take your own path.

You will find a safe space where you can say anything without being judged, and feel anything without being wrong.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, with diplomas in psychotherapeutic counselling, relationship therapy and Rewind Technique for helping with trauma.

I offer counselling therapy for adults and older adults, both individuals and couples. I work on how we feel in the present, and consider what we want and need to do in order to shape our future.

Counselling, or talking therapy, is one of the many ways we can help ourselves to make sense of our unique place in the world around us. Whether we feel confused, alone, sad, anxious… whether we are struggling to cope with situations that feel out of our control… whether we are worried about addiction… whether we need help to understand our relationships with others, feel overwhelmed at work, have lost direction or hope; talking it through with someone who will listen with care can be immensely helpful.

Most people find that having someone dedicated to listening and understanding them, with interest and without judgement, has a powerful effect on their well-being and sense of self.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and abide by the BACP code of ethical conduct.

I have a qualification in Rewind Technique for trauma.

I work online and in person in Witney, both with individuals and couples. Relationship therapy is not exclusive to intimate partners; it can be for adults from two different generations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I offer counselling therapy for all adults (18+) and older adults, individuals and couples. My approach is mainly humanistic, integrating existential, phenomenology, person-centred and Gestalt therapies. We work on how we feel in the present, and consider what we want and need to do in order to shape our future.

However, I always work with flexibility; we build our work together by building our relationship together, and so therapy is always a unique experience. Sessions can continue for several weeks or many months.
