About me

Hello, I'm Olivia, and I'm an experienced integrative counsellor with availability to take on new clients. I work in a client centred approach, meaning I draw on a range of models to help clients to develop their self-awareness and grow from their experiences. In my therapeutic work, I primarily use Person-centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills.

I work hard to create a safe and trusting space that gives people the opportunity to talk about how they feel without the fear of judgement. My goal is to provide an environment that enables people to express their feelings and understand what may have caused them to feel this way.  My aim is to help my clients to find ways to cope better with their feelings through talking therapy whilst drawing on a variety of tools, depending on what works best for them. During our sessions, we will be able to regularly explore and review your needs and expectations of therapy.

Perhaps you have been thinking about counselling for a while? Feeling apprehensive about seeing a counsellor for the first time is common. Taking the first step to start counselling can feel exciting, but the process can feel intimidating and full of unknowns. The good news is, there is nothing that you can’t talk about in counselling. Sometimes counselling can be used as a preventative tool that can help you gain greater self-awareness and develop coping strategies for the future. You might benefit from counselling if you feel that you are at crossroads in your life or overwhelmed. You might also feel that your life is going well… you’re managing, and you’d just like to maintain that and invest in yourself. With counselling support, we are able to learn new insights and discover positive ways to move forward.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
