About me
I am a qualified psychotherapist primarily working with issues related to difficult relationships. I support people who want to explore the impact of their past relationships, improve present-day relationships, work on family dynamics or simply develop a greater understanding and awareness of their own relationship patterns.
Relationship issues, both historical and present day, often lead to other struggles such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and addiction. I support people to work through these challenging times. I also support people to process painful relationship experiences, including abuse, trauma or loss.
My approach is based on training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. I am a registered psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Therapy can be a wonderful resource to help you work through difficult times - providing a supportive relationship for you to talk through the challenges you face. It can also help to build a deeper awareness of how life experiences can shape our personalities, our self-image and our relationship styles.
My approach to support you includes:
Exploration
When life feels unmanageable, therapy can lighten the burden by having a supportive figure to speak to.
When we feel ‘stuck’, therapy can help you to zoom out and look at the big picture of your life. This can help to reconnect with what’s most important - we can assess what’s working, what isn’t working and what you might like to change.
Life history
Our unique life experiences have a huge impact on how we think and feel about ourselves. Our histories also influence how we respond to different events, people and situations.
Many people find themselves in similar situations in life over and over again, particularly in relationships, and then wonder ‘how did I end up here again?’.
Building a clearer awareness of your life history, and how it impacts you in the present, can help you to avoid repeating any unhelpful patterns.
Therapy can help you to separate the past from the present, move through life with greater clarity and find new, healthier patterns.
Relationships
Troubled relationships are one of the most common reasons people seek therapy. When it comes to our most important relationships, it can be hard to find the right time, place or person to talk to about our difficulties.
The counselling relationship is the perfect place to be fully listened to and release some of the tension .
You can take a step back from your day-to-day life and reflect on your relationship patterns, which can help you to develop healthier connections with the important people in your life.
Couples Counselling
Some couples come to me when they're going through a difficult period. This might be in the form of repeating arguments which find no resolution, or a struggle to find a connection.
There might be an incident or issue which has impacted the relationship, and a safe space is needed to discuss and explore what's happened.
Other couples come to therapy when things are going pretty well in their relationship. In these cases the simple goal can be to build on your understanding of each other.
Developing your awareness of each other's complexity, as well as building on your own self-awareness, can help to deepen the strength of your relationship and enable you to lead more fulfilling lives together.
My style
I work in a relational way, which means that reflecting on relationship histories and patterns is central to the work.
My style is active and engaged. I give space to tell your story, explore and be listened to, while challenging you where appropriate.
I am a fully qualified and registered Psychotherapist (UKCP) and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I have also completed training in humanistic counselling and regularly attend CPD training for specialisms, such as trauma, substance misuse & addiction, anxiety & depression, food & disordered eating and many more.
I work on both a short and long-term basis, and offer therapy both online and in person in my therapy room in Hove, UK. Please feel free to contact me to organise an initial conversation over the phone. This would last around 10-15 minutes, and would be free of charge.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
