About me

I work with people who are seeking to address issues and patterns in their lives which have become obstructive, and I specialise in treating anxiety, PTSD, complex PTSD (adverse childhood experiences), shame, low self-esteem, identity issues, loss, grief, and life crises.

Using a range of integrated psychotherapeutic and somatic approaches, I provide a relaxed, confidential space where we can attend to what is going on for you now, and how you may have come to be where you are.

This process generally allows you to feel calmer and see more clearly, so that you can choose whatever might be best to do next. I am open to working with whatever you bring.

Blending professional training, clinical and life experience, I offer a warm, soulful human environment where we can address your suffering and struggles, and help you find more meaning, connection and fulfilment in life.

If you think we may be a good fit, please contact me for an initial 20-minute phone or video call consultation free of charge.

Training, qualifications & experience

My unique approach is underpinned by over 15 years of professional experience working with people therapeutically in a variety of diverse settings and contexts. Throughout this time I have trained extensively, learning a wide range of established therapeutic perspectives. This allows me to tailor the therapy to your unique needs, rather than forcing you into a specific model.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. In addition to my diploma in integrative counselling, I have an MSc in leadership coaching (distinction), and am a qualified yoga teacher and bodyworker.

Though my core approach is integrative transpersonal, I have training and experience in the following perspectives which inform and influence my practice: psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT, solution focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, healing NLP and systems psychodynamics, and I work across them reflexively according to what suits you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

As a person of mixed heritage who grew up moving around a lot, I have a deep understanding of issues related to identity, including the experience of ‘otherness’, the challenges and difficulties related to being a foreigner, and the tensions involved in navigating conflicting cultural norms.

My stance is vehemently anti-discriminatory. You will be welcomed warmly regardless of your background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, skin colour, body type, ability, neurology or faith.

If you think we might be a good fit for working together, please contact me to arrange an initial 20-minute consultation free of charge (this can be via phone or video call).
