About me

Hello, my name is Nora and I am a qualified counsellor based in the UK.

I appreciate that finding a counsellor can be a daunting experience, so please feel free to look around here and on my website and get to know me. If there is any helpful information I can give during this process of finding a therapist, I would say: chat to a few counsellors and make use of their 'introductory calls'.  Feeling comfortable with your counsellor is so important and it's a really good way of making sure you find the right person for you!

How I work

I support you to create positive, lasting change by utilising a humanistic model to therapy which takes into account your mental, physical and emotional needs.

I offer 50-minute sessions on a weekly basis, however, I am more than happy to agree to a frequency that works best for you, whether that's fortnightly, monthly or ad-hoc sessions as-and-when you need them.

I am an integrative-trained therapist, with a focus on a person-centred modality. This means that I will be led by you on what you would like to talk about and explore in-session. I might use or offer tools and techniques from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you.

I take a supportive and gentle approach to therapy, providing you with insight, company and perspective during your vulnerable moments, helping you to recover and thrive. I aim to help you understand the root causes of your experiences to allow you to develop your own insights and pathways to positive change.

What to expect

I offer a free consultation, of 15 minutes, where we can meet one another, test our chemistry, discuss your needs and see if we might be a good fit. If you feel comfortable to move forward, we would then arrange your first session at a mutually suitable date.

The first session will be an assessment, to discuss what you would like to address in therapy, how we might work together and what you wish to achieve during your sessions.

Getting started

If you would like to work with me or find out more, please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope we will make a good fit and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
