About me

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey where you are the expert on your own life. By creating a warm and empathetic therapeutic relationship, I work with you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, fostering self-awareness and promoting personal growth and resilience.

Finding your path is a journey that may involve twists and turns along the way. It's okay to take your time and experiment with different options at a pace which best fits you.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor which means I will use different theoretical approaches to best suit your individual needs, I will provide a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, within a safe and supportive space for you to explore your challenges, gain insight, and make positive changes in your life. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) which provides an ethical framework which I am bound by to ensure you remain safe and protected in the work we do together. I will work with your best interests at the centre.

Prior to completing my counselling training I worked in various settings for adults and children with Autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. I understand the care and school system although I primarily work with adults now.

I complete continued professional development and have an interest in trauma. I believe everyone should be able to live a fulfilled life regardless of the trauma they have experienced. To enhance my development further in this area I am starting a level six trauma course.

I know how tough life gets at times and this is when we seek help and support, I can help with life issues including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, relationship and life changing situations, bereavement, and trauma.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
