About me
I believe that by carefully and thoughtfully building a compassionate working relationship we can begin to make sense of what is important to you and make meaning of the challenges you face. This working relationship will allow you the space and safety you need to explore what it really means to be you and how you feel when your authentic self is witnessed by another.
What to expect from therapy
Coming into therapy can be daunting and take courage. I aim to provide a non-judgemental and safe place in which to begin or continue your journey to understand yourself and your relationships more clearly. Life is challenging and talking about our difficulties can make a real difference. As we develop our working relationship we will create a space together in which to explore your challenges and begin to bring clarity and insight into areas of your life which may have previously felt unmanageable. By being able to identify and understand patterns of behaviour and unwanted responses to triggers you will develop your awareness so that you can choose to respond differently.
My approach
I am an integrative counsellor which means my model combines a number of different approaches and theories. Using the Clarkson model, I work in a way that allows us to use our relationship as a solid base from which to explore your life challenges. We may explore the 'there and then' in order to understand the 'here and now', doing this by looking at childhood experiences and other important life events. I work in a way that will help you make sense of things that defy words or explanation.
Where
Therapy can be face to face or online. For face to face therapy, our space in Four Marks is confidential and comfortable with guaranteed free parking.
How to begin
Our work together will be based on our relationship and, with this in mind, I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone consultation so we can both explore if we are a good fit. To arrange an initial appointment please telephone, text or email.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
