About me

Hi, are you looking for support to make changes either personally or in your professional life. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling overwhelmed with uncomfortable feelings or thoughts? Do you feel numb, confused, alone, and isolated, like nobody understands what you are going through. You're not the person you used to be, and know that now is the time for you to reach out for support?

My name is Michelle, and I am a caring, empathically warm counsellor and I am here to support you when you need it the most. As we work together, I will listen and strive to help you to understand what you are going through. You will feel seen, heard, and understood. Because this can be empowering and validating it may well be the starting point for you. A way for you to begin moving forward and take steps that lead to a more hopeful, stable, and happier future.

Because as a counsellor I offer a safe and confidential environment, you will be able to talk freely and openly without fear of being judged or criticised. And because talking releases stress and tension, you can find yourself being able to think more clearly and see different perspectives. This can enable you to work out what is best for you, to find solutions that work which brings hope, self-confidence, and a growing trust in yourself.

You might want to offload any confusion or uncertainty you are feeling. Whether the cause is a difficult life situation/decision, low self-esteem, stress at work, a relationship, your past, or a feeling of being disconnected from yourself or the outside world. I will listen to you in a calm and supportive manner. I will help you to gain understanding and give you encouragement to find your way through. This may also involve finding strategies to cope with stress or anxiety, leaving you in a calmer and more relaxed mindset. Or because as you gain self-awareness processing your thoughts and feelings, you can discover insight in how you would like to make changes that improve your sense of worth and lead to a happier and more content life.

Maybe you need time to unravel and process your experiences in more depth, past and present. Understanding how your past may have shaped who you are today, the impact and whys, can be empowering for some. Research shows how past trauma can severely influence many aspects of your present-day life. We can work safely together as you process and begin to heal your trauma. Working side by side in a trusting and caring environment you can rebuild trust in yourself and the world around you.

I am a warm and caring counsellor, sensitive to your individual needs and aim to work in a way that suits you, to ensure you feel comfortable and safe. We'll aways work at your pace, discuss your needs, and wishes. This may change as we progress, that’s okay, we’ll adapt as we work together, nothing is ever stuck in stone. You’ll always be in control of what you bring to every session and how many sessions you wish to have. Short term counselling is available, as well as long-term open-ended counselling dependent on your individual needs.

Because I believe that as you progress in counselling your self-awareness can increase, you may be able to determine the root causes to problems and re-evaluate what is important to you. Become clearer on what you would like to be different and take action to put that in place, which improves your self-esteem and overall happiness

As we work together, I will support you all the way as you begin to make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I offer compassion and connection in our therapeutic relationship where you will feel seen, heard, and understood, validated, and respected for who you are.

I remember how daunting and frightening reaching out can be. The anxiety and nerves that stares you in the face when contacting a counsellor for the first time. I offer a free 15 min in person, telephone, or online chat for us to talk. We can discuss what’s bringing you to counselling, no pressure to go into any depth. You can ask any questions you may have and gain a sense of if working together would be right for you.  I'll make sure that I have the right skills to support you and if you feel you would like to begin counselling, we can arrange to book your first session when you are ready. There is never any obligation after our initial phone call to book sessions, it's important that you feel at ease with your counsellor.

I’ll email all the details that you will need, time, address and contact details for any questions that may arise. I will make booking your first session as easy as possible. Feel free to contact me now to book an initial chat or to ask any questions you may have.

Face to Face sessions are available in the comfort and privacy of my garden office. I also offer online via Zoom, and telephone counselling. I aim to offer a calm and relaxed approach to counselling, one in which a trusting, warmly empathic relationship provides the foundation for you begin the process of gaining self-awareness, understanding and personal growth. I can support you to find your ways of making changes that enable you to be happier and more at ease with yourself and life.
