About me

If you're here, something may no longer feel quite right...

HI, I'm Michelle a qualified counsellor and over the years I have realised, that for many of us, there are times in life when we reach a point where we know something needs to change, even if we can't yet put into words what that change looks like.

You may have been coping for a long time. Perhaps you've become used to putting everyone else first, carrying painful experiences on your own, or living with a constant inner critic that tells you you're not good enough. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or simply exhausted by trying to hold everything together.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.

I believe that every person has their own unique story. Our experiences, particularly our relationships, shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes those experiences leave us doubting our worth, hiding parts of ourselves through fear or shame, or believing that our needs don't matter.

Counselling offers the opportunity to gently explore those experiences in a different way.

My role isn't to give advice or tell you how to live your life, because I believe you are the expert on your own experiences. Instead, I offer a warm, accepting and honest relationship where you can speak freely, perhaps in ways you've never felt able to before. A space where you don't have to pretend you're okay or worry about being judged.

Together, we'll begin to make sense of your internal world—understanding how your experiences may have shaped the person you are today, while discovering the strengths, resilience and wisdom that may have become hidden along the way.

I don't begin with assumptions about who you are or who you should become. I have no idea what your journey will look like until we begin to unravel it together. I believe that, when we are truly heard, accepted and understood, we often begin to hear ourselves differently. With greater self-awareness can come self-compassion, confidence and trust in your own voice.

I don't see people as broken, and I don't believe my role is to fix them. What I do bring is patience, warmth, understanding and hope. I believe that within a safe therapeutic relationship, people can begin to reconnect with themselves, discover new possibilities, and move towards a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, but you don't have to know exactly what you need before getting in touch. If you're wondering whether counselling is right for you, I invite you to contact me for a free initial conversation. Together we can explore what's brought you here and whether I feel like the right counsellor to walk alongside you.
