About me
About Me
I’m Michelle, a qualified counsellor based in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. I offer counselling for adults in Chatteris, March, Huntingdon, Ely and the surrounding areas from my private garden office.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult. You may be used to coping on your own, even when things feel overwhelming.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or simply not like yourself anymore. Perhaps you are carrying something that feels hard to explain, even to those closest to you. You do not have to face this alone. I offer a calm and supportive space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and gently begin to make sense of what is happening for you.
How I Can Support You?
Are you struggling with anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, or feeling overwhelmed by life events? Perhaps you are experiencing bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, or simply feel that you are not coping as well as you once did.
You do not need to know exactly why you feel the way you do before coming to counselling. We can gently explore this together.
I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly, make sense of what is happening for you, and begin to feel more grounded and more yourself again.
Together we can work towards:
Understanding what is causing your distress and how it is affecting your life
Finding perspective and recognising patterns that may be keeping you stuck
Building self-awareness and confidence in your own thoughts and feelings
Developing a greater sense of calm, control and emotional balance
As your understanding grows, you may begin to reassess what truly matters to you, reconnect with your values, and make changes that feel right for the person you are now.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, depending on what you need.
My Approach
My foundation is person-centred talking therapy. This means I offer empathy, respect and acceptance, and work at a pace that feels right for you.
I also work in an integrative and creative way when helpful, including the use of SandStory™ therapy. This can support you in exploring thoughts and feelings that are sometimes hard to put into words.
You remain in control of the process, including how many sessions you would like.
Taking the First Step
Reaching out can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 15-minute telephone chat before we begin. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and see whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
You can contact me by email, phone or text. If you leave a confidential message, I will return your call as soon as I can.
