About me

Welcome to my profile. You have taken the courageous step towards finding a therapist. This can be a daunting task and I fully understand that knowing where to start can be confusing.

Coming to therapy means that you are prepared to give yourself time, love and grace.

I offer a compassionate and confidential space where you can explore what feels troubling and difficult.

Building a relationship where you feel you can trust me is the most important aspect of my work.

I am here to listen and guide you through difficulties from the past or present.

Together we work to form a picture of who you are. Only then can we understand your particular difficulties and develop the skills to cope.

It takes courage to come to therapy and working with clients is a privilege.

I hope the next step will be as transformational in your life as it has been in mine.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a  Psychodynamic Psychotherapist I have received a robust and ethical training. I work with unconscious processes which helps facilitate a deeper awareness, and gives my clients the opportunity to get to know themselves in a deeper and more meaningful way.

My ethical training means that I provide a safe and trusting environment, where my client can explore their difficulties in the comfort of knowing that their needs are my priority.

I work to help my clients understand their reactions, feelings and thoughts.

As a Psychodynamic therapist I can help facilitate a deeper awareness and shine the light on the reasons why a client may repeat difficult relationships, why they may struggle with depression and anxiety, or why they may feel stuck in a particular area of your life.

Overall I help to facilitate a deeper appreciation of the self and build on inner strength to manage life's challenges, whilst at the same time, building a trusting and connected relationship with me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
