About me
As a BACP qualified Counsellor, the work I offer is based around weekly 1-2-1 sessions where I will compassionately provide you with a confidential space to process what has been going on for you and to help you feel validated, perhaps even for the very first time, whilst we work together to try and discover what it is that you inevitably need.
How I can support you
I know that it can take a lot of courage to access help, and seek support, and I would really like to work with you on your journey towards finding 'You' again, by assisting you in taking that first empowering step. I can provide counselling on a range of difficulties including Adult ADHD, autism, anger, abuse, addiction, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, intrusive thoughts, stress, self-harm, relationship issues, as well as health & wellbeing.
How I Work
I work using one of the main counselling approaches called Person Centred which means that I provide you with the foundation to bring about your own self-healing. I passionately believe that we all have the capacity to heal from our past traumas and as a result to flourish as a human being given the right conditions. I not only wish to help my clients to build better relationships with others, but to thrive as a result of the relationship with their-self. I therefore work with techniques to help you balance your Autonomic Nervous System so that you can feel emotionally regulated again.
Talking therapies is a way to help you achieve this and by working with you we can slowly begin to overcome your distress and look at ways to make your life meaningful again.
The first step
Your first session provides you with the chance to talk through what has brought you to counselling. I will then explain the contract, and how I work, providing you with the chance to decide if you would wish to work with me.
We will then explore together what you would wish to gain from counselling as I provide you with a secure environment to be listened to, heard and understood.
Should you wish to speak to me first, I can offer you a free 20-minute telephone call to give you the chance to explain your situation and to ask me any questions you may have before your first session.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
