About me

Hello and Welcome. My name is Marcia and I run Through the Darkness Counselling in Cambuslang, Glasgow, where I offer you a warm, friendly space to work through any difficulties you are experiencing in complete confidence.

Do you feel lost and don't recognise the person you have become?  Are you unsure of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours?  Is it impacting your life negatively and you are experiencing the worst time of your life?

Are you experiencing anxiety, worry and experience fear in everyday situations, or struggle in social circles?  Do you suffer from panic attacks, have painful thoughts or memories that you can't control?  Do you feel anxious, find it difficult to calm down and have difficulty concentrating?

Are you worried about the effect your mental health is having on your family and work life, do you feel isolated and you just can't seem to get out of the loop of depression or you are in a bad place that is making you feel socially, mentally and physically worn out?

Have you lost someone important to you and you are finding it difficult to adjust to life without them, do you feel a deep sense of sadness which can be overwhelming?

Is the hold of addiction seem endless and unmanageable? Is it causing emotional distress and having adverse effects in your relationships?  Are you finding the constant battle exhausting?

I can support you to find your self worth again, provide you with a counselling service that will have a positive impact to your life and help you find your best self, so that you can live a fulfilled life, be in control of your feelings, gain the tools to manage your thoughts and move on to be confident and live your life your way, this is absolutely possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration.
