About me

“I can offer you a good listening ear. An emotionally warm, nurturing, safe, and secure place to be able to talk about what is happening to you, what is important to you, and what is concerning you that is keeping you “stuck” and not being able to move forward in your life.  I am a fully qualified MSc Integrative Counsellor registered as a member of BACP, NCS and other governing bodies.  I can offer you a genuine, non-judgemental attitude allowing you, perhaps for the first time, to express and explore your past, your present, your future, and who your true self is, or will be, without fear of shame. I will be by your side as you go on a journey of personal development. To hold your map when feeling lost whilst you try, but sometimes fail.

I offer an extensive toolbox of counselling therapies and approaches including creative interventions to allow you a variety of different ways of working together to suit your unique and individual needs to allow you to “Learn to heal and re-parent inner past traumas to help release and embrace your true authentic self”.

Counselling is a process that requires sharing your internal world and carrying out an emotional dig that can take lots of hope and courage. It is so important to feel safe with the person to whom you can open up to, therefore it is important for you to know who I am and how I can help you to be Your Therapy Godmother during this process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked over the years with organisations such as the Psychiatric Liaison Team at Betsi Cadwaladr NHS Hospital; the Primary Care Mental Health Counselling Service (NHS),  ICAN,  Advance Brighter Futures and Cruse Bereavement and have gained experience in working with many people who have presented with an array of Mental Health and emotional issues.  I have gained over the years the following qualifications and continue to learn and grow for the benefit of my clients including an MSc in Integrative Counselling from Bangor University; a
Diploma / Level 5 in Integrative Counselling from UKAIT; a Diploma / Level 4 in Clinical Hypnotherapy from UKAIT; a Diploma in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.) incorporating Hypnosis (GHSC Accredited Training); NLP Practitioner Course; a Lifecoaching Course; as a Mental Health First Aider;  Emotional Freedom Practitioner and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner and Creative Inner Child Practitioner

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
