About me

Hello,

Welcome to my profile. I created Harley Life Therapies so that I could offer a range of therapeutic (and coaching and antenatal) services to those who need that support.

I offer both online (via Teams) and face to face sessions. The latter can be in Chelmsford or just outside Billericay, in Essex.

I understand that your search for the right therapist or coach, can seem like a minefield. There are lots of acronyms and confusing terminology - it can sometimes be difficult and daunting to know where to start in your search, especially if you have never had therapy or coaching before. I hope that you find my profile easy to read and it answers questions you may have. If, after looking through my profile,  you still have any unanswered questions, please do get in touch.

I am an established, professionally qualified, integrative therapist and accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS).  I offer individual counselling and work with a wide range of issues; those issues are listed later, within this profile.

I am also a fully qualified Psychosexual & Relationship Therapist. I am a registered member of the College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (COSRT); what does this actually mean? It means that I specialise in psychosexual (sex) and relationship issues for individuals and/ or couples.

I am bound by and adhere to the NCS and the COSRT Codes of Ethics and Practice.

In addition, as a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA), I work with issues surrounding fertility.

I have over 15 years experience of working therapeutically with adults within the private sector and I have additional experience of working within the NHS. I have coached within the private sector and also for a large corporate, global organisation.

Whichever hat I am wearing within the services that I offer, I always work in a confidential, supportive, relaxed, non-judgemental way and my primary concern is your emotional well being. I am highly empathetic, open and intuitive, and I will help/ support you through your therapeutic journey. As an integrative therapist, I have a wide range of tools and approaches available to me: what this means is that I am able to adapt the way that I work, in order to suit the person or people sitting in front of me and that is regardless of relationship status, sexuality and gender identity. I believe that one size does not fit all. Getting to know you is a crucial part of our relationship; the better I know you, the more able I am, to adapt my approach to suit your needs.

I believe that first and foremost, the relationship between us is paramount. Without a good relationship, progress will not be made within our work. Feeling safe, comfortable and supported within a therapeutic space - whether that space is face to face or online - encourages openness, exploration, learning, self awareness and often either the change that was originally sought or, as a minimum, the development of coping strategies to help in everyday life.

I am able to support you in various ways and look forward to working with you.

So what next?

  1. If you would like to know more about the work that I do or you wish to book an initial assessment session, call or email me.  From there, we can book our first session.  **N.B. Please check your Junk Mail as my emails can end up there, when I respond to enquiries.
  2. Our first session gives us a chance to see how we get on. During this initial session I can answer any questions that you may have, we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and we can talk through, at a high level, what the work will entail.  If you are comfortable continuing, we will then agree on either short term or longer term therapy (depending on your needs), our regular weekly appointment time and book our next session.
