About me

It can be daunting finding the right counsellor, so I hope the following information helps you do so. Please get in touch if you have any more questions or would like to arrange an assessment session.

What to expect during sessions with me

It is my absolute priority that you feel safe, heard and validated in sessions with me, and I can offer you genuine kindness, warmth and compassion in supporting you to build self understanding, acceptance, and coping skills.

Together we may explore your current and past experiences, seeing how they impact your life, your relationships, and your inner thoughts and processes. We may look at incorporating more self-care into your life, identifying your specific needs, exploring ways to self-regulate, manage overwhelm and work through life’s obstacles.

I have worked with a variety of clients over the past 7 years, and additionally have specific experience, training and interest in working with autistic clients and those with ADHD (including AuDHD).

As a late-diagnosed autistic person living in a neurodivergent family, I also have a personal perspective and understanding of the strengths, experiences and challenges that can be faced by neurodivergent individuals. This includes  advocating for the needs of neurodivergent individuals and being a parent carer.

For a free 15 minute initial chat to help you decide if you want to book an initial session, please contact me on 07394 946427, or email me

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
