About me
Do you feel like you have nobody to talk too? Do you not want to feel like a burden on your family or friends? I can help you. I can give you the space to talk; to talk about things you may be bottling up, or things you may be struggling with at the moment. Trust me, I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support, especially from a counsellor whom you have never met before. However, I am passionate about supporting people and I want to work with you to overcome your difficulties, so you can move towards living a happier and more balanced life.
Working together means I can help you explore your current thoughts, feelings, worries or concerns and then together, we can work towards getting you to where you would like to be. You may want to talk about things from your past that you have been trying to block out and this is ok or, you may want to talk about some things that are happening right now, this is also ok. I will work with you around what you feel is necessary.
I strongly believe in the importance of building a relationship with my clients because I want you to trust me when sharing your thoughts and feelings, because I know how difficult this can be.
As a CBT informed counsellor I will provide you with a safe environment to talk, openly and freely without judgement. I will listen to you, empathise with you and support you with any decisions you may reach yourself. Our sessions will allow us to explore things together, so you no longer feel alone. This will be done at a pace that suits you.
I have experience working with lots of different people from different backgrounds with different struggles, worries and concerns. I have supported individuals around depression/low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties, marriage breakdowns, low self esteem, abuse, bullying, family issues, suicidal thoughts and self harm. Each individual has their own story and their own experiences and I am here to work with you to understand your experiences and your story. I am here to listen to your voice. I have worked with people who find it extremely difficult to open up at first, and this is ok. There will be no pressure during the session to share things you do not feel comfortable sharing, like I said, it will be at a pace that suits you.
I have been supporting individuals for many years, it is something I feel extremely passionate about. I hope to support you on your journey in finding you that balance to continue forward.
I offer a free 30 minute appointment which will give us a chance to briefly get to know each other and work out what it is you would like to work on together. The first initial appointment allows us to see if we feel we could work together, as the relationship is so important to me.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
