About me

About me:

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist with several years of clinical experience, privately and in the NHS. Trained to Masters Degree level accredited by the BACP, I have been fortunate to study at leading psychotherapy institutions.

What I offer:

I provide focused, short-term counselling and in-depth, long-term psychotherapy, specialising in anxiety, depression and work related stress as well as self-harm, trauma, loss & bereavement. My special interests include relationship issues, transitions to new life-stages, Post-Natal Depression and LGBTQ+.

Above all, I offer dedicated support, empathy and understanding to people facing emotional and psychological difficulties, in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment.

How Psychotherapy Works:

Difficult experiences in the past can affect the way we feel and behave in the present.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is teamwork, and I work with individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, early-life experiences and beliefs. This provides an insight into present-day problems that stem from patterns developed over time, and is the foundation of self-development.

With my support, clients begin to make sense of their world and take steps to change these patterns. This can have a beneficial effect on one's self esteem, encourage healthier relationships lead to a better quality of life with a more clear direction.

Counselling and Psychotherapy is an illuminating journey of understanding oneself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
