About me
Hello, I’m Lucy.
I’m a qualified counsellor (MBACP) with over 8 years’ experience in private practice, offering a warm, calm, and supportive space where you can talk openly and feel accepted without judgement.
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re feeling anxious, low, or unsure where to begin. You don’t need to have everything figured out — we can take things gently and at your pace. My aim is to help you feel safe, supported, and understood.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and heal, even when life feels confusing or painful. I work alongside you with care and compassion, helping you explore what’s going on for you and supporting you as you move towards feeling more like yourself again.
How I work
I work using a Person-Centred approach, which means our relationship is at the heart of the therapy. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can share your thoughts and feelings freely.
There is no set agenda for our sessions. You are welcome to bring whatever feels most important in the moment, and we will explore it together. This gentle, flexible way of working allows you to develop greater self-awareness and self-trust, helping you feel more confident and in control of your life.
While we may sometimes reflect on past experiences, our work often focuses on the present, supporting you to feel more grounded and less overwhelmed by what’s around you.
Areas I work with
I support people with a range of difficulties, including:
Anxiety
Depression
Low self-esteem
Anger
Abuse
Loneliness
Bereavement and loss
Relational difficulties
Phobias
This is not an exhaustive list, you are very welcome to get in touch if you’re unsure whether counselling with me would be right for you.
Sessions and fees
I offer:
Phone, video, and text counselling – £45 for 50 minutes
Walk and talk therapy in Shrewsbury – £45 for 50 minutes
In-room counselling in Shrewsbury town centre – £55 for 50 minutes.
Next steps You are welcome to reach out for a free no obligation chat. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions, share a little about what has brought you here, and see whether I feel like the right fit for you. There's no pressure to commit- just a gentle first step to help you decide what feels right.
Testimonials
“I was feeling so low when I contacted Lucy. There was so much happening in my life that I was literally full up. It was really hard to take that first step, but Lucy put me at ease straight away. After thinking I wouldn't have much to say, the first session flew by.”
"You completely saved my life... I was stuck in the deepest darkest rut, that I've ever been stuck in and didn't think I'd ever get better."
“Lucy helped me understand the root of my feelings and emotions in a way that made me feel seen and validated”
“Walk and talk therapy with Lucy is working really well for me. It's a great way to get some head space while talking to a professional”
" I thought there was no light at the end of the tunnel not even a flicker, yet you pulled me up and got me back on track again and now I'm doing things for me, I'm fitter than I've ever been and soon I'll be more skilled than I've ever been."
“More than anything I've learnt I am enough, and that really is thanks to Lucy, I would Highly recommend her.”
"You never gave up on me, and every time I saw you it was like an immense weight had been lifted off of my chest."
“Lucy is a great listener, her easy going manner encourages sharing."
“I felt the sessions with Lucy were enjoyable, I particularly loved the opportunity of having freedom to be outside for our appointments, This gave me a chance to vent all the frustrations and built up anxieties. Thank you for listening and for the encouragement to do things for myself”
“Lucy was great, she had the perfect balance of listening and challenging me to help me work through my whirlwind of emotions, this helped me understand why I was reacting the way I was. The stress from other people in my life had made me bottle up so many emotions over the years that I had forgotten I had even experienced.”
“I highly recommend Lucy's walk and talk service. This environment makes it less formal and therefore much easier to talk”
“I saw Lucy on a weekly basis for a few months, gradually distancing and she ensured I was in a good place again before we finished our final session. At this point I felt calmer confident that I cold start focusing on my future again”
“Lucy is so thoughtful, and really made me feel like an individual, always remembering things that I had told her and reminding me what was important to me. She also has a great sense of humour which is great at times where I really just needed to laugh at myself and the world around me.”
"Having had experience of a number of counsellors over the years, ours is the longest therapeutic relationship I have had and I think that is a testament to your commitment to the on-going work and recovery that I needed and received with your help these past five years."

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
