About us
Hi, my name is Lucie Angell, and I am a qualified Play Therapist. I am passionate about my role where I provide a safe and nurturing space for children, to have the freedom to express and explore their feelings through the metaphor of play, behaviour and other communication. The trusting and non-judgmental relationship between child and therapist can unlock the potential for self-growth and self-healing.
I am currently working from my Antrim Office, therapeutically with children aged 4-12, who are experiencing difficulties in a range of areas including bullying, anxiety, ASD, low self-esteem, trauma, domestic violence and family separation among other difficulties. I offer individual and group Play Therapy sessions. I am particularly passionate about Sensory Play for both enjoyment and therapeutic support. I have also supported children therapeutically with art, clay and sand to work through emotional trauma.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the PTUK Accredited register which is regulated by the Professional Standards Agency (PSA) and monitors the standards and safety in Play Therapy. Being a member of PTUK, I follow their strict codes of practice including regular clinical supervision, continued professional development and clinical governance. I regularly attend Child Protection and Safeguarding training and also hold an Enhanced Access NI Certificate. I hold the following qualifications and I am accredited in the following areas:
- Bachelor of Arts (Hons), KUK University
- Master of Arts, KUK University
- PG Cert in Therapeutic Play
- PG Dip in Therapeutic Play
- Child Psychology from NCFE
- 5 BTEC HNC in Health and Social Care
- Cini Child Protection
- Risk Management
