About me

My principle training is humanistic-existential and I am qualified to offer coaching or therapeutic counselling for everyday life problems and psychotherapeutic counselling for common mental health problems.

When you are feeling overwhelmed with life, I can offer a safe space to help steer you in a more positive direction!  Are you feeling like you have lost direction in your life?  Worried, anxious or depressed?  Struggling with a difficult event?  Suffering from repetitive negative thoughts?  Not sure what choices to make?  Or you keep making the same mistakes!  Right now, are you looking for a light in the darkness?  Because… being a person is not easy!

A humanistic-existential approach is a confidential, compassionate and non-judgmental talking therapy.  This approach focusses on the universal challenges of human existence and coming to terms with life transitions, difficult lived experiences, fears, anxiety, loss, uncertainty, feeling isolated or lost hope and meaning.  It is a holistic approach where clients can explore their relationship with themselves, others and the world around them.  It is person-centred and values individual diversity and difference.  Together we will aim to co-create a caring and trusting relationship where you feel listened to, understood and comfortable to talk freely about personal issues or lived experiences without the fear of criticism.

Counselling can guide the development of your self-awareness, inner resources and offer strategies to restore you to wellbeing.  It can help you gain mental clarity by enabling you to process difficult situations that have impacted on you such as everyday life difficulties, relationships, mental health problems, adverse childhood experiences, learning difficulties.  When you have a focussed and clearer state of mind, your mind isn't clouded with repetitive thoughts, indecision, what-ifs, overwhelm or worry!

As well as helping and supporting you through the difficult times in life, my approach can encompass coaching for clients wanting to engage in self-exploration to figure out Who You Are and how to realign your life to create the life you want and become the person you deserve to be!

So, if you struggle with confidence, anxiety or stress!  Find yourself acting or living in a way that isn't true to yourself!  If you want to become more resilient and robust!  Contact me today!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
