About me

Hello, thank you for viewing my profile.

I offer you a caring, reliable, confidential and non-judgmental talking therapy to support you through this difficult time in your life.

Counselling can help you gain mental clarity by enabling you to process difficult situations that have impacted on you such as everyday life difficulties, bereavement, relationships, mental health problems, adverse childhood experiences, neurodiversity challenges or other stressful situations.  When you have a focussed and clearer state of mind, your mind isn't clouded with repetitive thoughts, indecision, 'what-ifs', overwhelm or worry.

The counselling approach I offer can help restore you to wellbeing. There is much more to wellbeing than feeling unwell.  Wellbeing means being able to enjoy life, having a purpose, accepting yourself, having positive relationships with others including with yourself, and a feeling of being in control of your life.  Wellbeing needs to be proactivity nurtured regularly to prevent problems arising.

I am qualified to offer coaching or therapeutic counselling for wellbeing issues, everyday life problems and psychotherapeutic counselling for mental health problems.

I have over 25 years' experience working with people with a range of wellbeing and mental health challenges, which includes neurodivergent individuals, learning difficulties/disabilities and adverse childhood experiences.

My primary training in Humanistic-Existential and this approach focusses on the universal challenges of human existence and coming to terms with life transitions, difficult lived experiences, fears, anxiety, loss, uncertainty, feeling isolated or lost hope and meaning.  It is a holistic approach where clients can explore their relationship with themselves, others and the world around them. It is person-centred and values individual diversity and difference.  Together we can co-create a caring and trusting relationship where you feel listened to, understood and comfortable to talk freely about personal issues or lived experiences without the fear of criticism.

My approach can encompass coaching for clients wanting to engage in self-exploration to figure out Who You Are and how to realign your life to create the life you want and become the person you deserve to be.

What previous clients have said about working me:

"Louise has been extremely valuable to me during my time in contact with her, she has listened and helped me change my life around.  She has helped me deal with traumas in my life and helped my anxiety and given me hope that I never thought I could find"

"I recommend getting support from Louise she has been a tonic and has helped me focus towards a greater understanding of myself, my past, and a clear path towards finding peace again"

"Louise exhibits a nurturing and maternal demeanour, demonstrating a non-judgemental and professional approach.  She is genuinely committed to her role, taking her responsibilities seriously.  Additionally, her ability to remember details from our discussions reflects attentiveness and the qualities of an excellent counsellor"

Please get in touch if you would like to book in a session and are looking for caring, reliable, confidential and professional support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
