About me

I am an experienced,  fully qualified BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist.

I offer in person sessions, and online sessions by zoom, for women.

Whether you are looking to; boost your inner confidence and self esteem; banish self doubt and limiting beliefs; free yourself from depression, anxiety, fear, and panic; work through an emotionally challenging situation; recover from an abusive relationship or unhealthy family dynamic; eliminate self defeating patterns of behaviour, or heal from a traumatic experience, I can support you to achieve your goals, so you can move on with your life feeling happier and freer.

For women looking to recover from an abusive relationship. I have been extensively trained in Emotional & Psychological Abuse Recovery and am also a certified Trauma Informed Recovery Coach.

Life does get stressful and tough sometimes. Traumatic events, constant stress, challenging situations, other peoples' behaviour, and so much more, can heavily impact you, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope. Reaching out, and investing in your emotional wellbeing is a really beneficial way to support and help yourself get back on track.

Together we can work on understanding what you are experiencing and how and why it is impacting you, heal anything that might need healing, and find the root cause of any issues, negative beliefs, or unhelpful patterns of behaviour, so you can free yourself from them.

I work with a solution focused approach, looking for root cause resolution, rather than just helping you manage the symptoms,  so you can achieve permanent lasting beneficial change.

Often the challenges we are experiencing in our present day are compounded by events from our past, that have subconsciously been re-triggered. So there may be elements of looking back to see how events in you past, could be playing out for you in the present.

My aim for my clients is to empower them so they can free themselves from their fears, worries and concerns,  recognise their value and worth, and live the happy, fulfilling, peaceful, loving life they deserve.

I offer a free no obligation 20 minute initial consultation for new clients. It gives you the opportunity to meet with me to see if you would feel comfortable working with me and to ask me any questions you may have; so you can then make an informed decision on whether I would feel right for you.    Please email me or send me a text if you would like to make contact and I will get back to you within 48 hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

The counselling, psychotherapy, therapeutic techniques and coaching strategies I offer have been grown over years of my training in the industry.  I have researched extensively the different approaches out there, and up levelled my skills so I can provide my clients with a range of strong, effective therapy.

Experience

Prior to setting up my private practice I have provided counselling at ARC Counselling Services, a BACP accredited counselling service, where I worked with adults looking to alleviate anxiety and depression, resolve their relationship issues, recover from emotional abuse, and build their self esteem, inner confidence, self worth and self love.

I have  provided counselling to female survivors of rape and sexual assault at Trust House Reading, focusing on supporting them to process their trauma, alleviate their fear and anxiety, rebuild their confidence, trust, self esteem and self worth and rebuild feelings of safety back into their body.

I have worked on the helpline at RASASC offering crisis care, emotional support and signposting.

I currently volunteer at my local community centre, where I provide light informal counselling, emotional support, and coaching strategies to those in need.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
