About me
Hi I am Louisa, I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor & trauma informed recovery therapist and coach, who works with women so they can free themselves from the emotional challenges they are facing and live the happy, fulfilling, thriving life they deserve.
I have a specialist interest, but am not limited to, working with women dealing with relationship and family issues. I am extensively trained in working with women looking to heal from traumatic relationship experiences , especially where they have experienced emotional or psychological abuse. I am also a specialist narcissistic abuse recovery coach.
I focus on building confidence, clarity, self esteem, self worth, self love and alleviating confusion, anxiety, fear, panic, depression, helplessness, PTSD, self doubt, stress, overwhelm, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, people pleasing, codependency, emotional over eating and insomnia.
I can offer you a safe, confidential, non judgemental space to talk through the emotional challenges you are experiencing, so you can feel safe, believed, valued, heard, and understood. I will help you to gain a better understanding of what you are experiencing and why. Together we can work on healing anything that needs healing and work on any fears, worries, concerns and negative beliefs or unhelpful patterns of behaviour you want to change so you can free yourself from them.
I work with an integrative, solution focused approach, supporting you to not only work through and manage your situation but also to help you find the root cause of why you are experiencing it in the first place, so you can be free of it and achieve permanent lasting beneficial change.
You have the power inside you to create the life you want for yourself. Sometimes you just need a safe, non judgemental hand along side you, guiding, and supporting you, as you find your way.
We can't change the past and what we have experienced, or how other people choose to treat us, but we can work on the impact it has on us, so we can heal, rise emotionally stronger and then move forward with our life feeling happier and freer.
As well as counselling and coaching I also offer Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT). It is a powerful solution focused therapeutic approach that combines the most effective elements of Hypnotherapy, CBT, NLP and Psychotherapy. It is highly effective at helping those who have good self awareness but still feel stuck and struggle to change patterns that no longer serve them, as it allows for deeper inner work.
I offer a free no obligation 20 minute initial consultation for new clients. It gives you the opportunity to meet with me and ask any questions you may have, so you can then make an informed decision on whether I would feel right for you. Please email me or send me a text if you would like to make contact and I will get back to you within 48 hours.

She explains why certain things happen or feel the way they do and gives strategies and tasks for you to do, which is something that helped me massively. I will be forever grateful to Louisa for helping me".

Training, qualifications & experience
The counselling, psychotherapy, therapeutic techniques and coaching strategies I offer have been grown over years of my training in the industry. I have researched extensively the different approaches out there, and up levelled my skills so I can provide my clients with a range of strong, effective therapy.
Experience
Prior to setting up my private practice I have provided counselling at ARC Counselling Services, a BACP accredited counselling service, where I worked with adults looking to alleviate anxiety and depression, resolve their relationship issues, recover from emotional abuse, and build their self esteem, inner confidence, self worth and self love.
I have provided counselling to female survivors of rape and sexual assault at Trust House Reading, focusing on supporting them to process their trauma, alleviate their fear and anxiety, rebuild their confidence, trust, self esteem and self worth and rebuild feelings of safety back into their body.
I have worked on the helpline at RASASC offering crisis care, emotional support and signposting.
I currently volunteer at my local community centre, where I provide light informal counselling, emotional support, and coaching strategies to those in need.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
