About me
Hi I am Louisa, I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with women so they can free themselves from the emotional challenges they are facing and live the happy fulfilling thriving life they deserve.
I offer in person sessions or online sessions via zoom.
I work with women who are looking to feel calmer, and build their confidence, self esteem, and self worth and alleviate anxiety, depression, self doubt, stress, panic, overwhelm, anger, people pleasing, codependency, insomnia, emotional over eating and other self defeating patterns of behaviour.
I specialise in working with women looking to work through difficult family or relationship issues. I am extensively trained to support those looking to heal from a traumatic relationship experience, where they experienced bullying, or emotional or psychological abuse. I am a trauma informed recovery coach and certified narcissistic abuse recovery specialist, and when necessary can incorporate that knowledge into my client work.
The coaching element provides practical techniques and strategies to enhance the therapeutic work. For example grounding techniques to help manage panic attacks, or strategies to build feelings of calm back into your nervous system to help calm down anxiety or feelings of overwhelm.
I work with a solution focused approach, looking to help you find the root cause of your issues, so you can free yourself from them permanently, as well as helping you manage the symptoms.
Life can be challenging. Traumatic events, constant stress, other peoples destructive behaviour, and so much more, can heavily impact us and leaving us struggling to cope. Reaching out and investing in our emotional wellbeing is a really beneficial way to support ourselves, and help us get our lives back on track.
You have the power inside you to create the life you want for yourself. Sometimes you just need a safe, non judgemental hand along side you, guiding, and supporting you, as you find your way.
We can't change the past, or how other people choose to behave but we can work on ourselves, heal, and grow so we can rise emotionally stronger and be better equipped to handle any future stressors that might come into our life.
Often the challenges we are experiencing in our present day are compounded by events from our past, that have subconsciously been re-triggered, so there may be elements of looking back to see how events in you past, could be playing out for you in the present.
I also offer Rapid Transformational Therapy which works with the subconscious mind. It is a powerful solution focused therapeutic approach that combines the most effective elements of Hypnotherapy, CBT, NLP and Psychotherapy. It is highly effective at helping to understand deeper childhood rooted issues that might still be playing out for us, impacting everything that we experience, including our relationships.
I offer a free no obligation 20 minute initial consultation for new clients. It gives you the opportunity to meet with me and ask any questions you may have, so you can then make an informed decision on whether I would feel right for you. Please email me or send me a text if you would like to make contact and I will get back to you within 48 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
The counselling, psychotherapy, therapeutic techniques and coaching strategies I offer have been grown over years of my training in the industry. I have researched extensively the different approaches out there, and up levelled my skills so I can provide my clients with a range of strong, effective therapy.
Experience
Prior to setting up my private practice I have provided counselling at ARC Counselling Services, a BACP accredited counselling service, where I worked with adults looking to alleviate anxiety and depression, resolve their relationship issues, recover from emotional abuse, and build their self esteem, inner confidence, self worth and self love.
I have provided counselling to female survivors of rape and sexual assault at Trust House Reading, focusing on supporting them to process their trauma, alleviate their fear and anxiety, rebuild their confidence, trust, self esteem and self worth and rebuild feelings of safety back into their body.
I have worked on the helpline at RASASC offering crisis care, emotional support and signposting.
I currently volunteer at my local community centre, where I provide light informal counselling, emotional support, and coaching strategies to those in need.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Testimonial
"I have been to visit other therapists in the past and had lost hope a little bit that, no one would be able to help me. Louisa has a warm energy that made me feel at ease very quickly. She explains why certain things happen or feel the way they do and gives strategies and tasks for you to do, which is something that helped me massively. I will be forever grateful to Louisa for helping me".
