About me

Hi, I'm Lorna. Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a Person-Centred Counsellor based in the Cleveleys area. I offer face to face, Zoom  or telephone counselling

Some of the issues I am currently working with are:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Feeling Sad
  • Bereavement
  • Relationships
  • Work-related stress
  • Covid-19 issues
  • Family problems.

However I can work with a range of presenting issues which you may have.

Person-Centred Counselling is a non-directive form of therapy. It is a safe, non-judgemental, trustworthy and confidential space for clients to explore the issues that are troubling them in everyday life. This enables the client to move forward with lives, free of the issues that have been holding them back.

I am a registered member of  the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as member  I provide a professional and ethical practice within the BACP framework

I believe that being a counsellor is not just about listening to a client, but it is about being alongside the client, feeling their emotions, and offering acceptance. I work to create a safe, therapeutic relationship where clients can feel safe and heard which helps upon their journey to fulfilment.

I understand that everyone has busy lives, therefore I offer appointments in the afternoon, evening and weekends to fit around work and family commitments. If you have any other queries feel free to email or ring me on the information provided.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
