Liz Hancock MBACP Accred Psychotherapist and Supervisor
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist who helps people make positive changes to their lives. I believe that everyone deserves to love the life they live and my aim is to help you do exactly that. All therapy sessions can be delivered via online video link.
I am experienced in relationship/couple counselling. I also work with individual clients and groups and I practice from an eclectic perspective which means I use different theories, techniques and therapies depending what might best suit both the client and the presenting problem. We are all unique individuals and we all respond to different approaches.
One of my specialties is stress and the physical pain that is related to that. Don't just manage your pain become pain free for good with my help.
I also work with clients who have illness such as ME/Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia and I have a specific treatment approach for these type of exhaustive conditions
Whilst I know that counselling is very effective, sometimes some extra help is needed for clients to be able to make the changes they want. I therefore also use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Matrix Reimprinting, Hypotherapy and more.
Due to my extensive experience of workplace issues I am also able to offer workplace counselling and or coaching.
I also run workshops on a variety of subjects such as managing stress, confidence and self esteem and much more.
I have been practicing for fourteen years. This has included couple counselling and individuals covering a wide spectrum of issues.
I see clients face to face and can also do counselling over the telephone and on Skype

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
In my expereince some couples leave the problems in their relationship until its too late and for that reason I offer relationship MOT's. No matter how good a relationship you have it can always be improved and nurtured.
My fees are £45 per hour. I recommend you come for a first session so that we can decide what needs to be worked on. This also gives you the opportunity to see if you are comfortable to work with me before booking any more sessions.
I can offer some concessions for longer term work.
Many people who want to access help also work full time so I do offer early evening sessions. I am very flexible and can also offer early morning sessions too.
I think the relationship between client and counsellor is very important. For that reason I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that you have an opportunity to see whether we could work together before you decide on a way forward.
If you are experiencing any of the following maybe I can help you
* Relationship problems
* Lack of confidence and low self esteem
* Bereavement and loss
* Work related issues
* Eating Disorders
* Self Harm
Perhaps you need help in work related issues? I have much experience in this type of work and this is where my coaching skills come to the fore.
