About me

I conduct a discreet, private practice in Oxford where I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, offering a range of supportive, effective therapies:

Therapy
Psychosexual Therapy
Relationship Therapy
Adolescent Therapy

Therapy
Provides an opportunity to develop a greater understanding and clarity of your difficulties. Together we can identify ways to improve your daily life by relieving insecurities and ministering to wounds, traumas, vulnerabilities. I will support you in successfully implementing the changes you decide to make. I integrate my knowledge by drawing on elements of different therapeutic approaches – offering a safe place to discuss, explore and address your goals and concerns. Some of the reasons why you might seek help:

  • Addictions- Drug & Alcohol
  • Anxiety and depression
  • ‘Stuckness’ and lack of meaning
  • Personal development and self-esteem concerns
  • Life stages and crisis
  • Childhood Trauma

Psychosexual Therapy
Sexual problems are some of the most embarrassing and difficult issues many of us face. My practice is a safe, confidential and supportive environment where individuals or couples can be completely comfortable expressing themselves on their most intimate psychosexual issues. For several years, I worked in the Oxford NHS Sexual Health Clinic as a psychosexual therapist. Through the Rape Crisis Centre I have supported women whose lives had been darkened by rape, domestic violence and sexual abuse. I have successfully treated:

  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Rapid or delayed ejaculation
  • Desire or arousal difficulties
  • Painful intercourse
  • Vaginismus
  • Sexual identity
  • Sexual shame
  • Compulsive behaviour (Porn/Sex)
  • Sexual health
  • The impact of childhood sexual abuse
  • Gender and sexual diversities: (LGBT/non-monogamies/kink)

I am passionate about people experiencing sexuality as an integral and joyful part of themselves. I hope to encourage an emphasis on sensuality and pleasure rather than what is a gendered, cultural and social performance. For the client to explore what works best for them and to become more open to having a good-enough sexual experience.

At present, I also facilitate retreats and workshops by creating a unique experience for people dealing with psychosexual issues. For further information about future retreats please contact me.

Relationship Therapy
The essence of every successful relationship is trust and effective communication. I work with individuals and couples to improve both of these qualities in their daily interactions. By facing one another honestly and learning new ways to relate based on our growing understanding of ourselves and our interactions, we find new ways to avoid and minimize conflict, and build a foundation of trust which is the key to resolving future difficulties.

I use the term Psychosexual Therapy to refer to focused, often time-limited work on particular sexual issues and Relationship Therapy to describe a journey of exploration into the couple’s relationship.

Adolescent Therapy
Young people today may encounter a baffling and perplexing range of issues including self-harm, suicide attempts and idealization, eating disorders; anorexia and bulimia, low self-esteem, bereavement, anxiety, sleep problems, anger, depression, drug and alcohol use, gender identity, sexuality, friendship issues, family separation and academic stress. My previous role as a school counsellor in two secondary schools has equipped me to create an environment in which young people feel free to speak openly and honestly about the issues that confront them. That openness is the beginning of healing, and leads to a more perfect sense of self and confidence in achieving a successful, gratifying and fulfilling life.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
