Lisa Adams - Dip.Couns. Registered MBAPC.
I am a fully qualified and experienced therapist. My therapeutic practice is grounded with a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic training. Alongside this more traditional talking therapy I employ a compassionate yet dynamic approach integrating Energy Psychology methods and IFS therapy. The work will reflect and integrate aspects of these modalities depending on the requirements and the desire of the individual.
I welcome all enquiries and I work specifically with adults. I offer open-ended and shorter term counselling catering this towards the needs of the individual.
More about my Practice
In session we often focus on the existing issues you are experiencing in the present. You are encouraged to talk about whatever is disturbing for you or upper most in your mind . I will listen intently and seek to help you understand your Self and the parts of you, to identify patterns, behaviours and mindsets which may be playing a role in the challenges you are facing.
How my Practice can help
The intention is to help you to empower yourself, so you can make more sense of your life experiences from the past, which together we can explore, to understand how they are effecting you in the present. This can lead to deeper insight and understanding about Self which can facilitate healing and growth.
Although at times it may feel painful to address the challenges which present themselves to you, I will be emotionally engaged and available to support you.
When we devote our attention to our 'inner' world, permit ourselves to explore our thoughts and feelings in all of their expression, to heal from the inside out, our 'outer' world can shift to reflect the changes we have made within.
The content of our work together is confidential.

Areas of counselling I deal with
The First Meeting
I charge £45 for an initial meeting and consultation. Please allow up to 1hour 30 minutes for this. Together we can explore what has brought you, whether my practice is likely to help you and whether we wish to work together. We can use this space to meet each other. It is also for you to learn more about my practice should you wish to and to discover what else the therapy might involve.
My Practice Fees
The fee is £40 per session.
I can occasionally negotiate a fee based on what the individual can responsibly afford therefore there are a limited number of reduced fee places available for those of reduced means.
Fees are paid monthly in arrears.
Sessions are arranged Mon-Fri between 8am-8pm depending on availability. We will usually meet weekly for 50 minute sessions at a mutually agreed time in my private practice room.
l also work within an online global community in a supportive capacity for individuals who have experienced abuse in their relationships. These relationships can include intimate partners, family members, friendships and working relationships.
