Lesley Pollard BA (Hons) MBACP (Accred) Counsellor
For many of us, these are very difficult times. Reaching out for help can be hard. However, making that first step can be really positive.
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and work with people who are experiencing a range of issues including childhood difficulties, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship/marriage difficulties, identity issues, difficulties with food and body image, work related problems, bereavement and loss.
I always meet the person for an initial assessment session. This gives me the opportunity to see if I can support you effectively and would be of help to you. More importantly, for you, the initial session can give you the “feel” of what therapy would be like and to see if you feel comfortable working with me. From here, you may decide to go ahead and we agree to work together or you may want further time to think about it.
Individual Therapy - £46 for a 50 minute session
I work one to one over a short or long term period. It is often very difficult to predict how long therapy will last but we will agree an initial amount of sessions and then we review this on a regular basis. The relationship between the therapist and the client is very important and I would recommend that you look around to find the right therapist for you.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
