About me

I'm an experienced Counsellor supporting adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship problems, family issues, abuse, anger, low confidence, loss and grief.

You may feel overwhelmed or stuck. Trying to understand and manage difficult thoughts and feelings can be exhausting and leave you feeling alone. This can end up having an impact on your day to day life and affect your relationships with others, leaving you with a lot of questions.

I take a warm, empathic and open-minded approach to my therapeutic work. I aim to build a trusting relationship through our work together whilst creating a confidential space where you feel safe enough to explore whatever you have to bring.

As a Gestalt trained counsellor, I support people interested in developing self-awareness and who want a better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others. Some areas I work with people on include; . I am also interested in working with people going through pre and postnatal experiences.

How I work...

Gestalt means “whole” and I work holistically to help people become more aware of their body, mind and behaviours. I believe personal growth and change happen through understanding your thoughts and feelings and becoming aware of what is happening in the present moment. By building self-awareness, Gestalt Therapy can support people to take more responsibility for themselves, increase self-confidence, and help them make clearer choices and changes to improve their well-being.

I offer talking therapies and I may also invite you to use a range of creative ways to express your thoughts and feelings when at times they are difficult to put into words. This can be through drawing, guided visualization, mindfulness, movement and bodywork.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss working together and to arrange a consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
