About me

There are many reasons why you may be struggling at the moment, perhaps you are feeling anxious, low, stressed and unsure where to turn next? Maybe there have been big or life changing events that are tough to navigate or you may wish for change but don't know where to start. Do you have a feeling that life could be different, maybe even better?

Is now the time to talk? Are you ready to prioritise your own wellbeing?

Counselling with me, will provide a safe and confidential space, without fear of judgement, criticism or unwanted advice. I will work with you, at your pace untangling your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to find your answers within.

I have extensive experience in the NHS as a Dietitian, mainly working with cancer patients and their families, but also other life limiting and long term health conditions. I am all too aware of the shortfalls in providing psychological support to patients, families, carers alongside treatment schedules, which can often be hugely life changing. It was this, which led me into the  counselling profession. I am a Mental Health First Aider within the hospital and a Wellbeing Buddy for my team and am fully aware of the stresses and strains of working for the NHS and working with staff is also an area of passion. I have volunteered for local charities, providing donation based counselling and also staff counselling at the local hospice, where I have seen a variety of clients from all different backgrounds.

My practice is in Newton Abbot, where I have a private designated counselling room overlooking my garden and if you listen carefully, you may even hear my naughty chickens or catch them digging up my plants! There is plentiful parking on the road.

I offer an introductory 15 minute chat - get in touch to find out more!

Please note, I only see adults over the age of 18.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
