About me
I am a qualified counsellor specialising in supporting adults and couples living with long term or life limiting health conditions. Whether you're facing the emotional impact of chronic illness, navigating major life changes, or feeling the strain on your relationships, I offer a safe, compassionate space to help support you cope and reconnect. I will work with you, at your pace untangling your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to find your answers within.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 15 years as NHS specialist dietitian, supporting people with cancer and long term health conditions. This experience has given me a deep, real world understanding of how illness affects every part of life - emotionally, physically and relationally. I bring this insight into my counselling work, both with individuals and couples.
I am a Mental Health First Aider within the hospital and a Wellbeing Buddy for my team and am fully aware of the stresses and strains of working for the NHS and working with staff is also an area of passion. I have volunteered for local charities, providing donation based counselling and also staff counselling at the local hospice, where I have seen a variety of clients from all different backgrounds.
My practice is in Newton Abbot, where I have a private designated counselling room overlooking my garden and if you listen carefully, you may even hear my naughty chickens or catch them digging up my plants! There is plentiful parking on the road and within easy access of the town centre.
I offer an introductory 30 minute session for £35- get in touch to find out more!
Please note, I only see adults and couples over the age of 18.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
