About me

I work under the name of Fathom Counselling NI.

‘Fathom’ came to me as a perfect representation of the service I aim to provide for my clients. Fathom can be defined as a measure of depth, or as a verb, to understand.

I aim to provide you with a confidential space where you can find new depths of understanding of who you are and your circumstances in order to build a stronger sense of confidence and resilience.

I work one to one with my clients from my office in Cullybackey, Ballymena. I offer sessions face to face; or for those where accessibility or travel is an issue, online and telephone sessions are available upon request.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists). Having experienced counselling throughout my life, I have worked to be able to bring others the opportunity to benefit from a safe space were understanding and change can happen.

Creating a therapeutic experience tailored to the needs of each individual client is what I believe in and something I work hard to create with my clients. Counselling is not ‘one size fits all’, and I aim to reflect this in how I work.

I work by looking with you at where you are now in your life, past significant life events, and relationships, which may shed light on what has been going on for you. By seeing each person as a culmination of all the things they have been through and how they interact today, we can form a newer, more in depth understanding of your ‘self’ and from there you can make an informed choice of where you want to go next and how you want to relate to the world around you.

If you are interested in sessions and would like to know if working with me is the right choice for you, feel free to send me a message.

It is my mission, to support you in finding your own strength and resilience to face the challenges that life send our way with confidence.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
