About me

I strongly believe that the client knows themselves best, therefore I listen not to diagnose, but to understand you and how you came to be. I appreciate everyone wants to be happy, but the idea of happiness will look different to everyone - to some, it may be having better relationships with their loved ones, to others, it may be excelling at their career, and others may want to have a better relationship with themselves. Together, we can work through the barriers like anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, or anything else. Whatever it is that your happiness looks like, I want to help you get there.

I am a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering online, phone and in-person sessions. I work across three different modalities interchangeably: Person Centred, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

I have several years of experience in working with people on 1-1 basis. I worked with people with learning disabilities, I had sessions with homeless individuals around self-harm and suicidal ideation, I have been working with client's that have issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, historical abuse, OCD, personality disorders, to name a few. As well as working with private client's to help them with bulimia, anorexia, restrictive eating etc., I have also done some work with a First Steps eating disorder charity.

If you would like to book a free 15-minute session to discuss your therapy options, please do not hesitate to get in touch either via 'contact me' function on my website, or by sending me an email/text message.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have extensive several years of experience working with individuals with presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, historical abuse and addiction, as well as helping clients through numerous other concerns, problems and worries. My particular interests are around eating disorders, such as bulimia, anorexia, restrictive eating and other issues surrounding this, or body image.

I have completed the following qualifications:

Master of Science in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. Completed with a distinction.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Derby. Completed with 1st class honours and an additional award.

Seminars and workshops

I am also continuously undertaking various professional development seminars and workshops, as I believe that the world of science is continuously changing and I like to keep myself updated with new treatments, new approaches and new ways of understanding the human mind.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
