About me

I offer online and telephone counselling for individuals whilst we are unable to meet face-to-face. My usual places of work are London Bridge, Fulham and Harley Street.

As a counsellor, I help people improve their psychological well-being, aid self-discovery and empower positive change.

My aim is to understand your experience as fully as possible, to help bring clarity to thoughts and feelings, and to create an environment for exploring positive change.

The therapeutic relationship I hope to build with you is based on respect, non-judgement and strict confidentiality, forming a safe foundation for our work together.

My clients often feedback they feel heard and understood and the warm, collaborative space I provide supports them to explore challenges, heal psychological wounds and make more satisfying decisions in their lives.

It is a great privilege to work as a counselling therapist and help people find a space to make positive changes and enjoy life more fully.

I offer a free 15 minute phone-consultation where we can introduce ourselves, you can ask any questions, and we can discuss logistics.

Should you wish to proceed, at an initial appointment we can discuss more fully why you are seeking support, ideas about what you would like to achieve and mutual suitability - whether I am the right person for you.

I offer short-term therapy usually with a specific focus on an issue or issues; or open-ended allowing for a more exploratory approach.

Call or email and we can discuss your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, drawing on Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Transpersonal approaches, as is relevant to each unique client and their situation. My Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

As well as working in private practice, I see clients through NHS referral in Hammersmith and Fulham.

I work with The Medaille Trust who offer safe-housing, advocacy and support for people identified as survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery.

Prior to working as a counsellor, I obtained a BA(Hons) degree and worked in the commercial and charity sectors for over 20 years.

Over the last 10 years, a specific area of interest has been my work with vulnerable women. Often survivors of childhood abuse-sexual, physical and emotional; domestic abuse and violence; sexual violence; modern day slavery, I have found it a huge privilege to support them as they face their difficulties and take new steps forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I work in a number of different locations and they vary in accessibility. Please let me know your needs and I will confirm suitability.
