About me

Hi I'm Kay.

I specialise in helping people who feel overwhelmed by daily stresses and pressures to feel better and lead a more balanced productive life. Issues may include anxiety, problems with relationships, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and panic attacks.

Offering a warm and supportive approach, I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space in which to talk. With training and experience in the main evidence-based psychotherapies, I work in a flexible and collaborative way, tailoring your session to your specific needs, ensuring your voice is heard and respected.

I work with a wide range of issues ranging from relationship problems, anxiety, depression, unwanted thoughts or behaviours, or who simply feel ‘stuck’ in their circumstances. I am familiar with issues related to work stress and other professional challenges. My approach is to explore the root causes of issues in the context of a supportive relationship. I am committed to giving each person I see a thoughtful and professional experience of therapy within a non-judgemental confidential and trusting environment.

I work from two locations in Exeter. The Practice Rooms EX4 3PT next to the library, just off the High Street and close to both rail and bus links. Also my private office in St Leonards EX2 4PT which offers ample parking. Both rooms provide a comfortable environment and a confidential space.

Being a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I work within its ethical framework. More details can be found here: www.bacp.co.uk.

I am experienced at supporting University students at all stages of their studies and am trained to work online to offer a continuation of sessions during the holidays.

Sometimes the hardest thing about Counselling is making the initial decision to ask for help. I offer a free 30 minute session to all new enquiries to provide you with the opportunity to meet me and ask any questions you may have.  This may be face to face or over the telephone if preferred.

Wherever you start from, I will be there to help you on your journey to a healthier, more fulfilling life, for as long as you need my support.

If you are interested and would like to know more about how we could work together please visit my website www.kayvickerscounselling.com

Thank you.
