About me

Hi, I'm Katie and I work with adults who are experiencing difficulties in all areas of their lives. I combine lots of different therapeutic approaches to find what works best for you.

I am based in Barkingside (London IG6), and on zoom (or other preferred platform) across the UK.

I will provide a warm, welcoming, non-judgemental, safe and confidential space for you to explore all parts of yourself safely and at a pace that's right for you. Working together, you will experience a compassionate space to allow you to explore different elements of yourself and your concerns.

I work with everyone individually to help you to find the best way for you, personally. I specialise in working with adult survivors of childhood trauma - working with people who have had really difficult experiences growing up, most often, complicated relationships with parents. I have experience around counselling for depression and anxiety, bereavement, relationships and self-confidence and extended training and experience around parenting, drugs, alcohol and cross-cultural issues.

Is counselling for you?

Are you experiencing a low mood, depression, panic or anxiety? Do you feel lost, with no one to talk to, no one who seems to understand? Maybe you feel a sense of shame or guilt, or low self esteem? Are you struggling with your confidence, friendships or relationships? If you are feeling scared, confused or alone, if you're struggling to keep a sense of normality or having difficulty managing your emotions, talking to someone might help.

I believe that individuals have the capacity to create amazing, inspiring changes in their lives, and I take a collaborative approach, working with you as an individual, to ensure the best possible outcome. I will do my best to listen to your thoughts and feelings, in order to understand the full story before exploring patterns and examining the issues at hand together.

Counselling will give you the space to examine your thoughts and work out what's best for you. Please visit my website (link above) for lots more information, testimonials and further information, and please feel free to call for a free initial conversation or to book an appointment; I look forward to working with you soon.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
