About me

Hello, I’m Katie, a counsellor offering therapy sessions for people trying to cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss and trauma.

In addition to my private practice, I work at a local college counselling young people aged 16-19 and adults with issues around anxiety, anger, stress, gender identity, relationships and self-esteem, to name a few.

Working with me could help you to feel more positive about your life and more hopeful about your future. You might gain new insights into your behaviours, find more helpful ways to cope, build more resilience and have happier relationships.

Whatever has brought you to this point, therapy with me can provide an opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe and fully supported way.

I won’t tell you what to do, instead, I will listen to you in confidence and without judgement, so you feel heard and validated and we’ll work together to find ways for you to help yourself.

My integrative style means I draw on a range of approaches; from gently exploring your past, to making sense of what’s happening right now, but always with you in the driving seat. This means I can respond to your unique needs and shape our sessions accordingly.

Finding a therapist you connect with and can trust is crucial so that you can talk openly. With this in mind, I offer a free 30 minute introductory telephone call. If you would like to proceed, we can then have an initial session to get to know each other and for you to get a feel for how I work. This is charged at my session rate of £60. At that point, we can work out if we are a good match.

I see my clients in person at a private counselling room in Hartley Wintney village, RG27. The room is easily accessible from the M3 and close to Yateley, Fleet, Church Crookham, Odiham and Hook and not far from Camberley, Farnborough and Basingstoke.  I also offer online and telephone counselling from Fleet, GU51.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
