About me
I am a fully qualified Integrative counsellor, working with adults and young people 11+. I offer a friendly, down-to-earth, compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore the challenges that might bring you to counselling. I am professionally accredited with the NCPS (National Counselling an Psychotherapy Society).
You may be feeling stuck, facing particular problems, difficult decisions or experiencing anxiety or depression. Counselling is an opportunity to make sense of it all, to get to know yourself better and give yourself the opportunity to thrive.
As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of different ways of working with a client, depending on their unique needs and preferences. My core approach is person-centred, which means that I follow the client's lead, but this may be informed by Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBTi for insomnia, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness, Sand Tray and other creative interventions.
For me, the most important part of therapy is the development of a non-judgmental and empathetic relationship between the client and the counsellor, and this is at the heart of my approach.
“To my mind, empathy is in itself a healing agent. It is one of the most potent aspects of therapy.”
Carl Rogers
