About me
Hello my name is Kate. I provide counselling face to face, online and on the telephone. I specialise in Domestic Violence, coercive control, PTSD, C-PTSD, Couples Counselling ,life problems, mental health and Eating disorders
I have extensive and varied experience with clients and am able to work and adapt to my clients on an individual basis. I use a person-centred approach but like to draw on other methods to enrich the process when appropriate.
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space to be able to explore your problems and what changes you would like to make to be able to lead a more fulfilling life. I understand that every person is unique with their own life experiences, needs, wants and problems and my aim is to work with you as an individual and understand you and your life experiences. I am able to help you understand yourself better and to be able to meet your own needs. To be able to look at your life events from childhood to present day and discern what has impacted you both negatively and positively so that you can relate to yourself in a healthier way.
I provide a supportive and safe environment for couples to work through difficulties such as communication, challenges and relational disharmony. To rediscover an enriching and fulfilling relationship with the aim of recognising and building upon each others strengths and weaknesses.
I have worked extensively in the field of Domestic Abuse and understand the complexity surrounding this issue. I am experienced in working with clients in this area and offer sessions which incorporate psycho-education to help you to understand the nature of abuse, the reactions, lessening shame and work through the trauma associated with this.
