MBACP (Accred )Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

About me

I’m a BACP accredited, relational, trauma-informed, and integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, rooted in the philosophy of the person-centred approach. I work with adult men and women, offering a calm and caring space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported — just as you are.

My work is guided by empathy, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s unique experience. I draw on psychodynamic understanding, somatic trauma therapy, creative exploration, and practical CBT tools to meet you where you are and support you in the way that feels right for you.

Within a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment, I support people who are struggling with anxiety, low mood, depression, or the effects of trauma and difficult life experiences. I also work with those seeking deeper self-understanding, healing, or personal growth.

Sometimes life can feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. Therapy can be a place to pause — to take a breath, explore what’s happening inside, and begin to make sense of it all, gently and at your own pace.

How I Can Help

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on what you need. You may be coming to therapy for a specific issue or seeking support for more ongoing emotional difficulties.

Areas I work with include:

Anxiety and stress
Depression or low mood
Relationship or family issues
Childhood trauma and emotional neglect
Low self-esteem and confidence
Workplace challenges or burnout
A desire for greater self-awareness and personal growth
I also work with clients who are feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who they are — often because of long-standing patterns rooted in early life experiences.

My Approach

My work is trauma-informed and integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to best support you. I combine humanistic, person-centred values with psychodynamic and somatic methods to help you understand yourself more deeply — both emotionally and physically.

I am particularly experienced in working with inner-child work and body-based (somatic) approaches to help clients process and release shame, guilt, and unresolved trauma.

You set the pace of our work together, and I will always respect your readiness and boundaries. My aim is to be alongside you — listening, reflecting, and helping you access your own insight and resilience.

I also offer psychoeducation where appropriate, helping you make sense of how your past may be influencing your present and supporting you in finding new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Is Therapy for You?

You may be asking questions like:

Why do I feel anxious, low, or emotionally stuck?
Where did these feelings start?
How can I begin to feel better and move forward?
Therapy can offer a space to explore these questions in depth — and begin to build emotional clarity, resilience, and self-trust.

Clients often tell me that having a space to be truly heard and supported allows them to reconnect with parts of themselves they’d lost touch with — and begin to live with more confidence and ease.

Next Steps

If you’re thinking about starting therapy but feel unsure, that’s completely normal. Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with.

Please feel free to send me an email or text. I offer a free 20-minute phone call so we can talk about what you're looking for and see if working together feels like a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working with clients dealing with depression and low mood, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, self-harm, suicidal ideation, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, those who have experienced sexual, physical and mental abuse as well as domestic violence, childhood trauma, trauma in adult life, ADHD, EUPD, Bipolar, bereavement and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds who struggle with identity, belonging, and are affected by cultural and migration issues, including separation and loss.

I currently work with Sutton Women’s Centre, Into The Light, Care to Listen (Croydon Community Counselling for NHS South London Maudsley Foundation Trust) and in private practice. I have previously held posts as a therapist at Headstrong Counselling and The Lucy Rayner Foundation.

I work with clients experiencing burnout or vicarious trauma due to the nature of their caring or supporting role.

My background is in linguistics – in my previous career, I worked as a Translator and Interpreter in the NHS and the justice system before retraining as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
