About me

I provide in person, face to face and online counselling sessions. My integrative approach blends theory and practice from well established and trusted therapeutic approaches to meet individual client needs.

I aim to create a safe and empathetic space for clients and support them to explore challenges and concerns and to meet their counselling goals. Sessions are intended to help clients gain insights and resolutions to their own thinking, feelings and behaviours and the situations they may find themselves in.

I take a relational approach to counselling and firmly believe that the quality of the relationship established between the counsellor and the client plays a key role in the therapeutic process and helps clients to meet their goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified, BACP-registered counsellor working with clients in person and online.

I am a psychology graduate and spent 20 years working in communications and client services before returning to my passion for human thinking, feelings and behaviours in a more one to one relational capacity.

I have a diploma in Integrative Counselling and am a certified online counsellor. I have undertaken additional training in using creative techniques to help clients access and express sometimes hidden and harder to reach feelings and experiences and techniques to aid in the resolution of interpersonal conflicts and unfinished business. I am currently undertaking additional specialist training to help clients affected by eating disorders.

I have worked with a wide range of clients experiencing a broad spectrum of emotional difficulties and challenging situations including anxiety, loss, trauma, self confidence, work related challenges, family and inter-relational problems.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
