About me

Hello and welcome, its nice to meet you, I'm here to listen and help.

It takes courage to acknowledge we are struggling with our thoughts and feelings, maybe to be at a point where we don't even understand or recognize ourselves at the moment.

Life can be hard and challenging for many reasons,  relationship difficulties, a bereavement or pre-bereavement, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, family conflict or parenting stress, an eating disorder, low self-esteem or loneliness, social anxiety or work stress. Counselling covers many aspects of life and can be helpful in times of uncertainty and change.

I provide a space where together we can look at what's happening in your life and how its impacting you, in a supportive atmosphere of calm and respect for who you are and the changes you want to make.

Just talking through our worries with a fresh listening ear can be so helpful, it lightens the load and brings a sense of relief.  Together we can start to unravel your thoughts and feelings about your situation, the negative impact of the past and how to come to terms with it, understanding the present and gaining more control of it, and by offering a new perspective and insight into your world will enable you to see the changes you want to make to move to a more positive you and a hopeful future.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor which just means I am trained in different approaches of counselling, such as Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic, which enables me to support you in a way that works for you.

Person-Centred counselling works with the values of empathy for the person, and what they are going through, by being honest and genuine with that person, and giving respect with non-judgemental listening to whatever a person may bring to counselling.

Simply put CBT helps us to understand how our thoughts and feelings influence our behaviour, it identifies patterns in behaviour, and offers insights into more helpful perspectives and ways of being.

Psychodynamic therapy looks at how the past has influenced our values and beliefs, and shaped the person we are today.

I am based in Eccleshall, Staffordshire, in easy reach of Newport, Telford, Stafford, Stone, Market Drayton and Stoke. I an registered with the BACP and work to their standards of professional care.

If what you've read sounds helpful to you, the next step is to contact me, give me a call or text on 07854417232 or drop me an e-mail.

We can have an initial chat (free to you) and arrange your first session with me. Looking forward to speaking with you soon, kind regards Julia.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
