About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

It takes courage to acknowledge we are struggling with our thoughts or feelings, maybe to be at a point where we don't even understand ourselves at the moment.

Whether that be because of relationship difficulties, a bereavement or pre-bereavement, grief and loss, generalised anxiety, depression, family conflict or parenting stress, counselling covers many aspects of life and can be helpful in those times of uncertainty.

My aim is to provide you with a safe and confidential space where we can look at what's going on for you and what's brought you to counselling. A time and space for you to be heard when others aren't really listening, in a supportive atmosphere of respect for who you are and how you want to be.

A space to express your worries, anxieties, frustrations or anger, in a non-judgemental, supportive atmosphere of respect, where together we can start to unravel those thoughts and feelings to bring a clarity and insight, to see the changes you want to make towards a more positive future and positive you.

I believe you are the expert on you, and you hold the answers to your difficulties. I will support you to understand yourself and find those answers, by encouraging self-empowerment and an awareness and understanding of your life, your thoughts and feelings which influence your behaviours, you can rediscover your internal compass to find a way to move forward for lasting change and wellbeing.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor which means I am trained in different approaches of counselling, such as Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic, which enables me to tailor my support to meet your individual needs.

Person-Centred counselling works with the values of empathy for the person, being honest and genuine with a person, and of respect and non-judgemental listening to whatever a person may bring to counselling.

Simply put CBT helps us to understand how our thoughts and feelings influence our behaviour, recognises patterns in our behaviour, and offers insight into alternative perspectives and ways of being.

Psychodynamic therapy looks at how the past has influenced our values and beliefs, and present ways of being.

I am a Shropshire based therapeutic counsellor, registered with the BACP and work to their ethical framework to provide a high standard of professional care.

If what you've read speaks to you, then speak to me, you can contact me by giving me a call or text on 07854417232 or drop me an e-mail.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
