About me

I'm a person-centred counsellor and I have gained experience working with a variety of clients, people come to me for support in their depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, family issues, domestic abuse and everything in between.

No matter who you are or what you're going through, I will offer you a judgement free, warm and safe space to be yourself.

I provide an empathic and safe space to explore your feelings without feeling judged. In my heart I'm Person Centred counsellor but if I feel we need to I also like to bring in other parts of my training, such as Solution focused therapy and Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Through talking, you will have the opportunity to reflect & process your feelings and thoughts at your own pace.

Anxiety and Depression is more common than you'd think, you're not alone, and I'll be with you every step of the way. Whatever you are feeling is valid! Talking to friends and family can only take us so far, and it can often leave us feeling that we have exhausted these resources, or left feeling that our needs have not been met... This is where I come in!

You've made that first scary step towards change, reach out and I will support you further along that road. I can't say that the counselling process is going to be easy, but I can promise you that I will be here with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BSc (Hons) First class Counselling and Psychotherapy (professional practice)
  • Membership: British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy - Registered Member.

As well as focusing on my private practice, I work part time for an EAP service, as an immediate support counsellor, offering a Solution Focused approach to clients who call into the service.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
