About me

My mission is simple: to provide you with the support you deserve and empower you to thrive. Feel free to visit my website if you would like more information.

I offer a personalised approach to trauma therapy tailored to your unique needs and experiences. I integrate evidence-based techniques with holistic modalities fostering healing on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

About you

Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time?

How I can help you

People tell me that I'm friendly and easy to talk to. I'll enjoy welcoming you and helping put you at ease. The therapy just starts like a free-flowing conversation, so that we can get to know each other. I will know the right questions to ask you to help clarify the struggles you are experiencing. You choose what you want to talk about, and any goals that you want to set for yourself. The relationship that we will create together will give you the chance to develop and grow. You can feel better.

I help people just like you

Grow in their confidence and develop boundaries. Learn to trust their gut feelings and make decisions that best support a fulfilling life. Clarify their thoughts to reduce feelings of confusion. Learn to say no and stop people-pleasing. Understand unhealthy relationships and the dynamics that underpin them. Think about things differently. Learn to let go of anger, guilt, and shame. Explore healthier ways of coping. Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Get connected with others, to reduce the sense of loneliness and isolation. Feel better about themselves. You are enough just as you are!

You get to choose what you want to work on. There is so much we can do.

Accredited EMDR Practitioner

I have worked as a Psychological Therapist delivering EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for the NHS for people with post-traumatic stress disorder. EMDR is a scientifically validated psychotherapy that has helped millions of people recover from traumatic events in their lives.

My work has given me extensive experience to be able to help you deal with the trauma you have experienced. We can work on flashbacks, nightmares and hypervigilance so you can find peace from past difficult memories. With the right support, you can overcome trauma and live a joyful, fulfilling life.

EMDR is a recommended treatment for PTSD, and complex PTSD, but is also increasingly used for anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, complicated grief and phobias as well. I have undertaken additional training in Attachment Informed EMDR Psychotherapy, to support you with childhood trauma.

Domestic Abuse Specialism

I trained with Women's Aid to become a Domestic Abuse Prevention Advocate. It's common for people to struggle to trust their judgements when their self-esteem and confidence have been shattered in an abusive relationship. I'm here to support you find your voice again. When you've been belittled, insulted, and shamed it's no wonder that it's so hard to feel good about yourself. It can be hard to shake off that negative voice inside your head. It's a lonely place to be, and sometimes it's hard to share what's happened behind closed doors with others. I'm here to give you the safe space you need. Where you can feel believed and understood. Where I will know how valuable you are and help you understand how empathic people can get trapped in abusive relationships.

Counselling can offer such healing and I will be with you every step of the way.

My professional experience

I have been a psychological therapist for over twenty-five years and completed thousands of clinical hours. I've been employed in this role by various organisations, such as the NHS, Employee Assistance Programmes and a supported housing charity. I have a wealth of experience to support you in working towards fulfilling your potential. With me, you are in safe hands.

What to expect when you make contact

I will talk to you briefly over the phone or via email and ask you a little about your difficulties. If it feels like these would be a good fit with counselling/EMDR and you want to progress, then we can book a session. Or you can give yourself time to think about it.

I have supported many people just like you, so please reach out, there is no need to go it alone. No matter what challenges you face, I believe that change is possible. We can work together to navigate your difficulties so you can get back to a life that feels meaningful to you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
