About me
Hello, I’m Jenny Madge, a dedicated counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. I’m committed to creating a supportive space where you can explore and understand the stresses and emotions that life can bring.
Life can be overwhelming for various reasons, from significant events to accumulated stressors or lingering memories from the past. In these moments, seeking therapy is a courageous step. I understand that taking that first step can be daunting and I’m here to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I specialise in a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, isolation, and past traumas. My approach is integrative, drawing from various therapeutic techniques, with a core foundation in Person-Centred therapy. I listen attentively, without judgment, to understand your unique perspective and help you make sense of your experiences.
My extensive experience spans various sectors, including mental health charities, bereavement charities and employee assistance programs. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from diverse backgrounds, spanning a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and cultures. This experience has enriched my ability to connect with individuals on a deeply personal level.
I hold a FnD in Counselling as well as a BA (Econ) in Sociology. I believe in continuously expanding my knowledge to best serve my clients. Currently, I offer online or telephone counselling, providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can explore and work through your challenges together.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
