About me

I apologise if anyone tried to contact me over the holiday period, I have now resolved my IT issues and am able to respond promptly to requests.

My name is Jayne, I’m a Person Centered Counsellor and Mindfulness advocate.

I understand that taking the step towards change may be daunting and it has to be the right time for you. I can offer you a discreet, confidential and safe place for you to begin what could be the most important journey of your life, the journey towards acceptance of your self.

I believe that every person, whoever they are or whatever they have experienced deserves respect, autonomy and peace of mind. It is alongside this belief that I can offer you, throughout a series of weekly meetings, the time to speak freely, confidentially and without judgement to help you to work towards a more balanced state of emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing that suits just you. I will help you learn to listen to yourself, re-engage with your feelings and trust that you will make choices that are right for you. I have practised mindfulness meditation for most of my life and often draw from this ancient approach to inform my practices.

Drawing from my own life experiences, I have developed a deep sense of empathy and compassion towards others which I feel has led me to this profession. My most recent professional experience has been gained from working as in-house counsellor for a neurological centre, seeing residents, care staff and families of those affected by life changing diagnosis. This aside, I would not consider any topic brought to me as one that we could not explore, I believe that our interpretation of our experiences differ immensely and to label any as “issues” could potentially be restrictive. If it is bothering you – then it is worth exploring.

If you would like to meet for a free 30 minute chat before starting your journey, email  or text me directly to make a no obligation appointment that we can have face to face or over the telephone.

I practice from two locations, one of which is discreetly located within Total Physio offices in the lovely village of Wheelton, near Chorley and the other at Sue Ryder Neurological Centre at Fulwood, Preston.

I am BACP registered and I adhere to the Ethical Framework as set out by them. (Copies available).  I am also a member of the Person Centered Association.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
