My Approach:

    Experience:

Along side my private practice, I currently work for a respected charity supporting individuals who have experienced sexual trauma, providing compassionate and trauma-informed support.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy options, and I am happy to discuss your individual needs and preferences.

Outside of my practice, I prioritise my own self-care though activities such as walking my dog, spending time in nature, cultivating meaningful relationships with my friends and family and staying active.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

How I work:

  • If you think I could be the right counsellor for you, get in touch and we can arrange an initial consultation to talk about your needs for counselling.
  • Sessions are arranged at mutually agreed times either in person or for online sessions - your session day and time will be the same every week.
  • Before your session, I email you my working agreement with my terms and conditions to be signed before our first session.
  • I offer a safe, warm and confidential space that is judgement free to allow you to fully express yourself and explore any issues concerning you.
  • Sessions are held at your pace, and the first few sessions are generally treated as getting to know you sessions.  I do work creatively, so where appropriate, we may work with diagrams, drawings or even games if this works for you.
